its own special features. In addition, there are numerous villages
and towns offering further business, recreational and shopping opportunities. |

Newburgh
Located on the banks of the Hudson River it is steeped
in national history. George Washington headquartered there during the Revolutionary War. It was in Newburgh in 1850 that
the Order of the Purple
Heart was founded. Newburgh is located close to Stewart Airport and is one of
the free trade zones in Orange County. There is great waterfront with

Port Jervis
Port Jervis is located in the western most region of
Orange County. It is filled with some grand old homes and is a wonderful
place for a day trip. It is located near the border of New Jersey and
Pennsylvania and offers some the most diverse recreation in our
community. You can white-water raft, canoe, or tube down the
Delaware River.

Middletown
Middletown, so named due to its central location
between Newburgh and Port Jervis. Middletown is comprised of a newer
section with some of the best shopping in the county, and an older section
which has some interesting restaurants and shops. There are several
wonderful art galleries in the downtown area. Every year
Middletown hosts the Orange County Fair and the fairgrounds. In
addition, there is some good entertainment going on at the Paramount Theatre
and on the main campus of the Orange County Community
College.
